Los Angeles-based filmmaker JJ Lippman's work blends a striking visual aesthetic with sharp, character-driven narrative.

Writer & Director, Photographer

JJ, a 2024 graduate of the University of Southern California, wrote directed, sound-designed, and edited her first short film Human Nature while attending USC. Human Nature examines environmental destruction through the prism of a supernatural thriller. The narrative centers on a woman who trespasses on protected land and starts to experience nature's wrath.

JJ recently completed her feature film directorial debut, Mind Games. Supported by a dedicated team of emerging filmmakers, this project brings together the themes that define her work: identity, obsession, and moral ambiguity and marks the beginning of a career committed to bold and emotionally charged storytelling. Mind Games premiered June 2026 at the TCL Chinese Theatre with Dances With Films.

Later this year, JJ plans to release her debut novel Marital Bliss. Logline: “As she prepares to remarry after escaping an abusive marriage, a woman becomes fixated on a couple in her fiancé's orbit, convinced the husband is abusive.” This psychological suspense novel has been described as “a mystery containing more twists than a double helix that you will find it difficult to put this book down.”
